Wandering the streets of Bangkok’s hottest neighbourhood, you’ll come across cafes that capture the essence of Seattle, fashion boutiques that evoke pure Parisian style and Japanese eateries that are seemingly transported straight out of Osaka.

One step into the akyra Thonglor Bangkok and you’ll instantly realise why this luxe hotel is right at home in the hip, cosmopolitan district.

The eclectic appeal and stylish flair of Thonglor are highlighted in the design and ambience of akyra Thonglor Bangkok. What could feel like a cacophony of competing styles finds harmony once you enter through the doors of the unique hotel. The sumptuous 1920s inspired interior borrows brass finishings from an upscale French boulangerie, subway tile from New York, and the stonework? Pure Italian Cararra, of course. The effect is one of restrained decadence.

Beyond the entrance, there’s even more to explore.

An Eye for Design

In an age where travel and luxury can feel commoditised, akyra Thonglor Bangkok manages to bring its own particular personality to the table. The talented design team of BEGRAY have clearly outdone themselves with this property and the hotel is a delight to discover. If you can manage to look away from the floor-to-ceiling views available in each room, you’ll take in thoughtfully curated art adorning the walls. Up on the roof, what seems at first an elegant water feature soon reveals itself to be the exterior of the impressive infinity pool from which swimmers and sun lovers can enjoy panoramic views of Bangkok’s skyline. As you make your way through the hotel, it’s clear that no detail has been left to chance.

East Meets West Dining & Decadence

East meets West juxtapositions are apparent throughout the property but perhaps the most clever example of this fine blend is the onsite restaurant, Som Tam and Chardonnay. Opening up to the roof terrace, guests can start their day here with a generous buffet breakfast before the stylish eatery opens its doors to the public for lunch and dinner showcasing a fusion of Thai and European flavours. The daily high-tea service at the Presidente Lounge similarly brings together fine English teas with the expected biscuits and scones complimented by Thai garnishes and fresh tropical fruits. With a whiskey bar concept due to open later this year, one wonders what other fusion delights the hotel’s food and beverage team have in store.

Standout Service

The same fastidious attention to detail also makes the service at akyra Thonglor Bangkok remarkable with an attentive, highly-trained team befitting the hotel’s 5-star status. Guests arriving at the hotel don’t stand idle at the front desk but can instead sip on a refreshing butterfly-pea iced tea before being whisked away to their rooms. Wish to extend the experience? Guests requiring longer stays will find the hotel an ideal residence as exclusive two- and three-bedroom suites offer ample space, and amenities like the on-site fitness and adjacent 24-hour supermarket provide additional convenience.

In the Heart of Bangkok

Outside of the ideally-situated boutique hotel, you’ll find the city’s best restaurants and nightlife just steps away along with Thonglor’s leafy backstreets just begging to be explored. That said, the hotel shares an entry with the attached Eight Thonglor mall so you needn’t even step out onto the street to find world-class shopping and dining. Those who want to see more of the Big Mango will find themselves at a BTS Sky Train station in less than a ten-minute walk.

Of course, the hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle service for those who’d prefer to protect their feet and designer shoes.

Room rates starting from 6,300 THB for an akyra Studio for two people inclusive of breakfast.
