Once taught to all Pwo Karen men, basket weaving is a heritage craft that has fallen out of practice with modernisation. Cultural collective Sop Moei Arts is on a mission to revive and preserve traditional craft productions. Its artisans create the highest quality baskets crafted the traditional way, where work is measured in days, not hours, from the first journey into the mountains to harvest materials to the elegant finished product. Functional and decorative, each handcrafted piece represents a heritage style from one of the tribes of Southeast Asia.
