Mango (Mamuang in Thai) is the “king of fruits” in Thailand and late March to July is the season for mangoes. Across the country there are festivals galore to celebrate the fruiting season, such as the Chiang Mai Mango Fair and the Chachoengsao Mango Festival.

At Cape Sienna Gourmet Hotel & Villas in Kamala, Phuket this May, guests can raise a glass or two the noble mango as part of the resort's Mango Cocktail Fest.

Here’s how a mango cocktail is made, just so you know what you are getting. Add vodka to fresh mangoes with mint leaves, ginger, lime juice, sweet and sour along with ice cubes. Blend and pour in a margarita glass and serve garnished with a mint sprig.

You cannot focus on mangoes in Thailand without offering the iconic mango and sticky rice. Here the freshest fruit is presented, hedgehog-cube style, with sticky rice (also known as sweet rice or waxy rice). This is a glutinous rice which has a moist, sticky texture and is served with a sweet coconut sauce.

The Mango Cocktail Fest is available in 3 of the resort's outlets: Vanilla Sky Bar & Gastro Pub, The Poolside and Sienna Rocks Café.
