Pagoda Chinese Restaurant at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park celebrates the ancient Chinese tradition of Mid-Autumn Festival with six creations of mooncakes made from premium ingredients by experienced chefs. The mooncakes are available for limited time only from 1 August to 13 September 2019.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most celebrated traditions of the Chinese, originally held to celebrate the harvest where the moon is worshiped on the full moon night of the eighth month of every year, falling on 13 September in 2019. This year, Pagoda Chinese Restaurant is carefully crafting six varieties including five traditional fillings and the highlight, Longevity mooncake with health-enhancing Chinese herbs, presented in beautiful precious box ingredients for the festival’s celebration and good fortune.

Signature Longevity

The highlight mooncake of this year is the Longevity mooncake that has health-enhancing properties from Chinese herbs for health benefits and happy mind. Marriott Marquis chefs have worked closely with a Chinese medicine expert who has picked a selection of herbs with five highlights to create sensational mooncakes including caterpillar fungus, American ginseng, red ginseng, saffron and dendrobium. These herbs help to nourish the brain, immunity enhancing properties, stimulate blood circulation. They also help to reduce cholesterol and anti-aging. The Longevity mooncake is available at THB 388 per piece or THB 1,588 per box (4 pieces). A set of 2 pieces of Longevity mooncake and two boxes of premium can also be had at THB 1,588.

 

Chanthaburi Durian, White Lotus Seeds with Single Yolk

Mooncake with Chanthaburi durian, lotus seed and egg yolk, one of the traditional recipes, uses durian from Chanthaburi which is regarded as Thailand’s best, with nutty and fragrant lotus seeds and egg yolk. It is priced at THB 188 per piece or THB 988 per box (4 pieces).

White Lotus and Melon Seeds with Single Yolk

Another popular filling – lotus seed, watermelon seed and egg yolk – delights with nutty palate and slight saltiness of the egg yolk, combined with the delicate taste of crunchy watermelon seeds. It is available at THB 188 per piece, or THB 988 per box (4 pieces).

White Lotus Seeds and Macadamia Nuts

Mooncake with lotus seed and macadamia takes the traditional and classic lotus seed mooncake and adds a contemporary twist with macadamia nuts that are delectably nutty and crunchy. It is available at THB 228 per piece, or THB 988 per box (4 pieces).

Pork Bak – Kwa and Assorted Nuts

A popular Singaporean choice, this variety combines sweet and sticky cured pork with crunchy mixed nuts. The pork is prepared with spices, sugar, salt and soy sauce, before being blended perfectly with the nuts. For a festive gift with a twist, these mooncakes are the perfect choice. It is available at THB 238 per piece or THB 988 per box (4 pieces).

MINI BAKED MOONCAKE

Salted Egg Yolk Vanilla Custard

A mini unsweetened vanilla custard mooncake is a perfect choice for your afternoon relaxation. Choose your favorite tea to match with the mini mooncake. Salted egg yolk vanilla custard mooncake is priced at THB 98 per piece or THB 888 per box (6 pieces).
