Part of our 'gourmet dining on a skewer' season this Shish Tawouk – Heaven on a Stick - has become a firm favourite at Metzo’s, where Chef Worawut Katanyou whisks up these delectable chicken pieces in a marinade of yoghourt, fresh lemon juice, tomato puree, exotic spices and bucket loads of garlic. Once prepared they’re expertly grilled to perfection and served with garlic sauce for a high protein, low calorie treat.

 

Wine Companion: I’d go with the New Zealand Pinot Noir from Picardi of Pemberton with this dish. The Pinot will be soft, with the right amount of acidity, and the fruitiness of the red berries will accompany the delicate chicken flavours.
